Remote Event Styling, Design & Sourcing Across the UK
MV Event Styling gives you professional event design, creative direction and supplier sourcing without requiring a traditional event stylist to attend your venue.
Tell us what you're celebrating, where your event is taking place, your guest numbers, budget, space and the style you love. We turn those ideas into a considered event styling plan you can confidently bring to life.
From Idea to Celebration
Event styling can feel overwhelming when you're trying to coordinate colours, furniture, flowers, table settings, decorations and suppliers at the same time. Our process breaks everything down into clear, manageable stages.
Tell Us About Your Event
Every event starts differently. You may already have a venue and a complete Pinterest board, or you may only know the date and the type of celebration you're planning.
Our event builder collects the information a stylist needs to begin understanding both the practical requirements and the creative possibilities of your event.
Your Styling Consultation
Your consultation gives us time to explore your ideas, priorities, budget, venue and practical requirements in more detail.
It is also an opportunity to identify where professional styling input will make the biggest difference and which MV package is most appropriate for the celebration you're planning.
If you begin with the standalone consultation, your £49 consultation fee is credited towards an MV styling package you subsequently choose.
We Design It
Event styling is about much more than choosing decorations. A professionally styled event considers how colour, scale, texture, furniture, florals, table settings, signage, backdrops and decorative details work together within the actual event space.
We use the information you've provided to create a cohesive visual direction rather than a collection of unrelated ideas.
Supplier Sourcing
With selected MV packages, we go beyond creative direction and help research suppliers around the location of your event.
This can remove hours of searching and help you identify businesses offering the products and hire items needed to deliver the styling concept.
MV provides supplier research and recommendations. You remain in control of your event and arrange bookings and payments directly with your chosen suppliers unless otherwise agreed.
Your Event Blueprint
Depending on your package, you'll receive the styling direction, recommendations, sourcing information, quantities, floor planning or setup guidance needed to move confidently towards the event.
Arrange your preferred suppliers, follow your styling plan and recreate the event we've designed together. Additional remote support is available where you want us alongside you for longer.
On-the-Day Remote Support
Live Setup Video Support gives you access to an MV stylist while you're setting up the event. Walk us through the room by video and we'll help with positioning, balance, styling adjustments and those final details that can make a space feel finished.

Event styling is the creative process of planning how an event will look and feel, bringing together the visual elements of a celebration so they work as one coordinated design.
An event stylist considers much more than individual decorations. The role can include developing a colour palette, deciding how the room should be presented, planning table settings, selecting furniture, recommending flowers, designing focal areas, choosing backdrops, coordinating balloons, signage, linen, tableware, lighting and other decorative details.
A good event styling plan also considers the practical characteristics of the space. A backdrop that looks beautiful online may be completely wrong for the dimensions of a particular room. A tablescape may need to change depending on table size, guest numbers, catering arrangements and the venue's existing furniture.
The purpose of event styling is therefore not simply to make an event look attractive. It is to create a cohesive visual experience in which the colours, materials, proportions and decorative details feel as if they belong together.
Event styling can be used for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, engagements, anniversaries, hen parties, private dinners, milestone celebrations, corporate occasions and events held at home.
Understanding the Difference
The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but they describe different areas of event support.
An event stylist primarily focuses on the visual design of the celebration — how the event looks, feels and comes together aesthetically.
An event planner usually manages the wider organisation of an event, which can include budgets, logistics, contracts, schedules and numerous suppliers.
An event coordinator generally focuses on ensuring plans are executed correctly, particularly as the event approaches or on the day itself.
A remote event stylist provides professional styling expertise without needing to be physically present throughout the event. Consultation, design, planning, sourcing and guidance can be delivered remotely, while the client and chosen suppliers carry out the physical setup using the styling blueprint provided.
Why Hire an Event Stylist?
Instead of buying individual decorations that happen to look nice, a stylist develops one visual direction so every element feels connected.
Professional input can turn scattered ideas and saved inspiration into something achievable in your actual venue or event space.
Styling direction can help identify which elements will have the strongest visual impact and where spending may be unnecessary.
A clear design gives you something specific to work towards rather than constantly comparing hundreds of unrelated ideas.
Selected packages can help reduce the time spent searching for furniture, decor, florists, balloons, backdrops and other suppliers.
Remote styling gives you professional creative direction while allowing you to remain involved and bring the finished event together yourself.
Is an Event Stylist Worth It?
Not every celebration requires a full event planner or an on-site styling team. An event stylist can be particularly valuable when you want professional creative input but still want to organise and set up much of the event yourself.
You may need less styling support if your chosen venue already includes a complete decorative package and you are happy with the standard styling it provides. The right level of support depends on the event, venue and how involved you want to be.
Choosing the Right Support
Beautiful photographs matter, but also consider whether the stylist can adapt to different budgets, venues and personal styles.
A mood board, complete styling blueprint, supplier sourcing service and on-site styling package are very different levels of support.
Find out whether your event will be individually designed or based primarily on existing styling templates.
Clarify who researches suppliers, who makes bookings, who makes payments and who communicates with suppliers before the event.
Understand how many design revisions are included and what support is available as your event approaches.
Two services both described as “event styling” may include completely different levels of design, sourcing, setup and coordination.
Event Styling Prices
Event styling prices can vary considerably depending on the event, the amount of design work required, the number of spaces being styled, supplier sourcing, travel, physical installation and whether the stylist attends the event in person.
Remote event styling can provide a different cost structure because professional design and sourcing support can be delivered without automatically adding travel, installation and full on-site styling time to the service.
Celebrations We Can Help Style
Event styling isn't limited to weddings. Professional styling can help almost any celebration where the environment, presentation and guest experience matter.
Create a soft, playful or elegant baby shower using coordinated colours, tablescapes, balloons, florals, backdrops and personalised decorative details.
From intimate birthdays to major milestone celebrations, styling can help transform a home, restaurant or venue into something that feels designed specifically for the guest of honour.
Engagement celebrations can combine romantic styling, flowers, candlelight, signage, table settings and focal areas without needing the scale of a full wedding styling service.
Anniversary events can draw inspiration from a couple's history, wedding colours, favourite places or a completely new creative direction.
Build a visually memorable hen celebration around a private dining space, accommodation, garden or venue with coordinated decor and personalised styling.
Wedding styling can include ceremony and reception areas, guest tables, top tables, flowers, furniture, linen, signage, cake displays and the visual details connecting the entire day.
Celebrating at Home
Yes. Some of the most personal celebrations happen at home, and a professional styling plan can help make better use of familiar spaces.
Home event styling can consider furniture positioning, guest flow, dining layouts, gardens, backdrop placement, focal areas, decorative zones and how everyday household spaces can be temporarily transformed for a celebration.
Remote styling can be particularly useful for events at home because photographs, measurements and video calls can give us the information needed to design around the space without automatically requiring an on-site visit.
Remote Event Styling
Yes. Remote event styling separates the professional creative design process from the physical setup of the event.
A stylist does not necessarily need to live close to a venue to develop the colour palette, tablescape, backdrop concept, floral direction, decorative recommendations or room layout for an event.
Photographs, measurements, venue information, online consultation and video can provide the information needed to understand the event space. The stylist can then develop the design remotely and, where included, research suppliers operating near the client's event.
The customer receives the creative direction needed to arrange their suppliers and bring the event to life themselves, with additional remote setup support available where required.
This is what allows MV Event Styling to support celebrations throughout the UK rather than restricting styling services to one local area.

Event Styling Questions
Clear answers to some of the most common questions about event styling, event planners, event coordination and remote styling.
An event stylist develops the visual direction of an event. This can include colour palettes, decor, furniture, tablescapes, florals, backdrops, balloons, signage, room layout and other visual details that determine how the celebration looks and feels.
An event stylist primarily focuses on the visual design of an event, while an event planner normally manages broader planning and logistics such as schedules, supplier administration, venues and event organisation. Some professionals provide both services.
Event planners are usually involved in planning the event over a longer period, while coordinators often focus more heavily on executing existing plans, managing schedules and coordinating suppliers as the event approaches or on the day itself.
Yes. If you are comfortable managing the event logistics yourself but want professional help with the visual concept and styling, hiring an event stylist without a full event planner can be an appropriate option.
Yes. Consultation, creative direction, mood boards, styling plans, supplier research and setup guidance can all be provided remotely. Clients can then arrange suppliers and implement the styling plan themselves.
MV's remote event styling and sourcing services are designed to support clients across the UK. Physical Full Event Setup & Coordination is currently limited to qualifying events within approximately 20 miles of Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Yes. Supplier sourcing can form part of an event styling service. Selected MV packages include research into suitable suppliers around the event location for relevant products, hire items and services.
MV's standard remote sourcing service provides research and supplier recommendations. Clients remain in control and normally contact, book and pay their chosen suppliers directly.
Event styling prices depend on the event, level of design support, supplier sourcing, number of spaces, setup requirements and whether physical attendance is included. MV remote styling packages currently start at £195, with a standalone 45-minute consultation available for £49.
Booking earlier usually provides more time for design development, supplier availability and sourcing. The ideal lead time depends on the size and complexity of the event, but larger celebrations and weddings generally benefit from more planning time.
Yes. Budget should be discussed before the styling direction is developed. A clear budget allows the stylist to prioritise the visual elements likely to have the greatest impact and recommend ideas appropriate to the available spend.
Yes. This is one of the main reasons clients use remote event styling. A professional stylist develops the creative direction and guidance while you retain control of supplier bookings and physical setup.
Yes. Private homes, gardens and residential spaces can all be styled for celebrations. Photographs, measurements and video can help a remote stylist design around the available space.
Useful information includes the event type, date, location, venue, guest numbers, available budget, photographs or dimensions of the space, preferred colours and styles, inspiration images, existing bookings and any venue restrictions.
Yes. The Wedding Styling Blueprint is designed specifically for weddings and can consider ceremony styling, reception styling, guest tables, top table, cake styling, flowers, furniture, linen, decor and the broader visual direction of the day.
MV offers remote Live Setup Video Support across the UK. Events within the qualifying Harrogate catchment may also be able to add Full Event Setup & Coordination for physical on-site support.
